Trump Travel Ban Decision Celebrated By State AG

Attorney General Maura Healing is hailing a federal appeals court ruling that rejects President Trump's travel ban executive order.  "The Boston Globe" reports she says the ruling from the Ninth Circuit upholds the principle that no president is more powerful than the Constitution.  Healey recently joined with 15 other attorneys general who filed briefs in support of a lower court ruling that placed a restraining order on the ban.  President Trump says the ruling is political and he's expected to go to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Now comes word that an unnamed judge in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals wants the court to hear more arguments in the case.    The judge wants the decision to be reconsidered by the entire 11 member Court of Appeals.  It is uncertain the motivation behind the judicial move.  It could be, according to observers, the judge didn't think there was enough airing of the issue or if he believes that the entire court could overturn the original decision.

Meantime, more states are lining up to stay the Trump Immigration Order.  Minnesota and Washington State attornies have been ordered to file court briefs as to why they believe the entire court should not hear the case.  Those briefs are due by the end of the week.
