Machine Is Headed For History

The lottery machine at a Pride gas  station in Chicopee which recently sold a gigantic jackpot-winning  Powerball ticket is being retired.

The Massachusetts State Lottery has  decided to remove the machine and display it at a yet-to-be-determined  location as a piece of lottery history.

The machine, which had been  printing tickets for almost twenty years, spit one out that produced a  winning 758-million-dollar ticket for Mavis Wanczyk of Chicopee.

It was  originally pulled for routine maintenance on Saturday, but officials  then decided to take the alternate action.
