Baker Seeks Court Reform

Governor Charlie Baker is offering a  legislative proposal aimed at reforming the way bail is administered.

The bill would make it easier for prosecutors to call a hearing and  determine if defendants are a danger to the public.

The bill is in  response to several serious crimes committed by people who were free on  bail.

In one recent case, a Fall River man free on bail caused a head  on crash while fleeing from police, killing himself and two others.
