State Gets Share Of Uber Agreement

State Attorney General Maura Healey's  office is announcing the results of a settlement with Uber over a  nationwide data breach.

Massachusetts will receive just over  seven-million-dollars of the 148-million-dollar agreement.

Healey said  Uber failed to immediately report the breach and then tried to cover it  up.

The settlement between the ride-share service and the commonwealth  also requires the company to comply with state data breach and consumer  protection law, among other mandates.
