A former Hampshire College student's current status at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility is receiving attention.
The Pioneer Valley Workers Center, a community organization, says Eduardo Samaniego was denied bond for his release last Thursday after more than two months behind bars at the ICE facility in Lovejoy, Georgia.
The non-profit group says Samaniego, like other immigration activists, is being targeted for his work.
A rally is being planned at the ICE office in Springfield on Thursday, scheduled to coincide with a scheduled immigration hearing for Samaniego in Atlanta.
