Springfield police arrested a man and confiscated a flamethrower during a traffic stop on Sunday morning.
The Springfield Police Department says officers were conducting an anti-drag-racing detail in the area of East Columbus Avenue when officers observed a moving car with a passenger standing up through an open sunroof recording a video.
That passenger, Brandon McGee of Springfield, claimed possession of the flamethrower which officers initially thought was a rifle, according to reports.
McGee faces charges including carrying a dangerous weapon with an active warrant.
