Springfield Successful In Waiver Case

The state has granted waivers to dozens of school districts that have asked to delay the full return of in person learning.

Education Commissioner Jeff Riley has approved requests from 58 districts seeking to delay reopening lower grades full time next month. Riley is taking additional time before deciding whether to approve waiver requests from Boston and Worcester.

Springfield has already received a waiver which will allow it to start with a hybrid system until May 3rd.

Requests from six unidentified school districts for waivers were denied by the state.
