Rick Hoyt- Boston Marathon Icon Passes Away At 61

Beloved Boston Marathon athlete Rick Hoyt has died.

Hoyt, who had cerebral palsy, was 61.

He was pushed in his wheelchair by his father who had served as a lieutenant colonel at the 104th Fighter Wing in Westfield.

Russ Hoyt, the brother of Rick says that the family believes that Rick suffered from pnurmonia a couple of years ago and it probably took more out of him than most people knew.

Hoyt participated in the Boston Marathon from 1981 until 2014.
