Governor Sued Over Homeless Shelter Cap

A lawsuit has been filed against Governor Maura Healey over her announcement that homeless families can no longer be guaranteed shelter.

The suit against the Healey administration was filed on behalf of three families facing homelessness by the group Lawyers For Civil Rights Boston.

The group is seeking a hearing and a restraining order to stop the state from undermining the right to shelter law.

Massachusetts state law requires that the state provide temporary shelter to all homeless families.
