Senator Proposes "Expunging" Certain Criminal Records

State Senator Cynthia Stone Creem is proposing legislation to eliminate some records of juvenile offenders in Massachusetts.

The Newton Democrat said clearing the records will reduce the chance people could be prevented from going to school or getting a job.

Stone Creem said sex offenses and crimes that resulted in a death would not be eligible for expungement.

No timetable for when the legislature will deal with the proposal.
